Job Description

Our Client, a private non-profit organisation representing, supporting and protecting interests of business communities is looking to hire a proactive Head of chambers  in Accra to help in its operations.

ROLE PROFILE

Manage and support the setting up of a Representative office and provide market intelligence on local market to the International Relations Team. Promote and represent the chambers at events, attract targeted companies in local country and build business relationships.

An essential role that impacts the organisation’s International Relations activities in a target market, city or country.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and support the setting up of a Representative Office and provide market intelligence on local market.
  • Provide market intelligence on local market to External Relations team such as intelligence on players in each of the industries, information on main opportunities in market (e.g. major projects in pipeline, unmet demands etc.) and facilitate business for companies coming from chambers home country to meet with local businesses.
  • Promote / represent chambers home country at local events inviting relevant companies to home country promotion activities and participate in different events to market investment opportunities, thus creating positive image of home country in the local market.
  • Attract targeted companies in local country and build relationships through identification and development of close ties with anchor companies and link these companies to relevant authorities and companies in home country.
  • Reports back on regular basis to International Relations HQ On daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Support the International Office Representative where necessary and manage the day-to-day operations and facilitate opening of other regional offices when required.
  • Ability to travel within the region as well as overseas when required for business purposes.
  • Other relevant tasks of the job purpose when, and if require

EDUCATION

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration preferably International Relations
  • 8-10 years of experience, at least 5 years in local country, working with large businesses
  • Project management qualification an advantage

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working for a Chamber of Commerce, FIPA, Trade Centre, Embassy or other related Government entity an advantage.
