Job Description

Our client is a top non-Bank Financial Institution in Ghana, engaged in credit lending, specifically payroll-tied lending, currently seeking to hire a dynamic and experienced individual for the position of Sales and Marketing Manager.

The successful candidate shall be primarily responsible for directing and managing all sales, marketing and business development activities of the company with the view of meeting set revenue and profit targets. This is an ideal and exciting role offering opportunities for career growth.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Plan and ensure execution of the sales, marketing and product development programs of the company targeted at existing and new markets both in the short and long run.
  • Develop and ensure implementation of the sales and marketing strategy of the company.
  • Meet marketing and sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing annual budgets; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions.
  • Determine annual and gross- profit plans by forecasting and developing sales quotas for regions; projecting expected sales volumes and profit for existing and new products; analyzing trends and results; establishing pricing strategies; monitoring costs, competition, etc
  • Direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals as appropriate
  • Achieve marketing and sales operational objectives by driving strategic plans and reviews,  implementing  plans, enforcing productivity benchmarks, quality and customer care standards, resolving problems, completing audits, identifying trends, determining system improvements and implementing change.
  • Accomplish marketing and sales objectives by planning, developing, implementing and evaluating advertising, merchandising, and trade promotion and field sales programmes and activities.
  • Identify market opportunities through customer requirements; defining the markets , competitor shares; competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, forecasting projected business and establishing the company’s targeted market share
  • Develop and recommend product positioning, packaging and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long term market share for the company
  • Ensure effective control of marketing results and take corrective actions to guarantee that the achievement of market objectives fall within pre – determined  budgets.
  • Direct market research and product development.
  • Oversee and evaluate market research and adjust marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions
  • Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners
  • Meet with key stakeholders, assist  the sales and marketing staff with striking and maintaining relationships, negotiating and closing deals
  • Establish and maintain a consistent corporate image for all product lines, promotional activities and brand events
  • Direct route to market development activities and coordinate sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas and goals
  • Represent company at trade association meetings and promote company products / services
  • Participate in the  recruitment, training, motivation, retention, organization and development staff in accordance with the company’s hiring process, personnel policies and budget requirements
  • Establish standards of performance and monitor conformance of staff  through performance review

Required Skills or Experience

  • University Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, Science or Arts.
  • A Master’s Degree from Graduate School with a minimum of seven ( 7 ) years related experience with progressive managerial responsibilities will be preferred.
Knowledge and Experience
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of sales and marketing techniques and principles in areas such as Sales Planning and Strategy, Brand Positioning, Creative Services, Market Research and
  • Product Development, Territory Management, Competitive Analysis, Client Relationships and Business Development, Understanding the Customer etc
  • Leadership and problem solving capabilities.
