Preamble/Justification
The Transformative Land Investment (TLI) Team is seeking the services of six field enumerators who will support the team in collecting data within the Ashanti, Western, Volta, and Eastern Regions. This survey is focused on understanding the challenges, benefits, and impacts of land-based investor (LBI) operations from the perspective of stakeholders, including the fringe communities associated with the LBIs, mainly within the forest and agriculture sectors.
 
Summary of the Position 
The field enumerators’ primary role is to support in the conduct of community household surveys and focus group discussions (FGDs).

Responsibilities and tasks
The key activities and deliverables expected from the Enumerators for this assignment are as follows:

Pre-Enumeration Phase
  • Attend enumerator training, including the TLI project introductions meeting.
  • Receive enumeration materials and equipment from the SNV-TLI team. 
Enumeration Phase
  • Implement LBI community sample criteria and locate sample selection.
  • Obtain necessary permissions for data collection where necessary. 
  • Conduct Household Surveys and Focus Group Discussions at designated community level as per approved schedule.
  • Record responses as guided by the SNV/CIFOR Supervisory team.
  • Comply with research and quality standard requirements as provided by the SNV-TLI team.
Post-Enumeration Phase
  • Clean and process quantitative data according to guidelines provided by the SNV/CIFOR team.
  • Transcribe all qualitative data according to guidelines provided by the SNV-TLI team.
  • Ensure that all data collection results, and equipment are accounted for.
  • Turn over all literature and materials used to the SNV-TLI team.
  • Participate in and summarize results of the validation workshop with the SNV-TLI team.
  • Turn over equipment and signed timesheets to SNV-TLI team.

Required Skills or Experience

Education(minimum)

  • BSc/BA: Social Sciences, Agriculture, Agribusiness, Entrepreneurship, Statistics, and other related fields/areas.
  • Experience in using web-based data collection Apps, such as Kobo Collect.

Work experience

  • 2years (minimum)
