About the Role

SEND GHANA is seeking an experienced researcher and advocacy manager to serve as the Deputy Country Director and to support the Country Director in managing the Ghana Team to implement high-performing programs,  secure new funding opportunities, and achieve  SEND’s strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate all SEND GHANA programs and projects
  • Support the Country Director in overall organizational management
  • Develop and review proposals to secure funding for programs and projects
  • Supervise program staff and ensure timely and high-quality project delivery
  • Oversee program monitoring, evaluation, and quality assurance
  • Manage donor relations and ensure compliance with donor guidelines
  • Ensure that all SEND’s programs and projects are gender-responsive
  • Coordinate research and advocacy activities
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to program staff
  • Represent SEND GHANA during advocacy events and conferences
  • Foster strong partnerships with local organizations, communities, and stakeholders
  • Ensure adherence to SEND GHANA policies and procedures, including financial management, human resources, and safeguarding

Required Skills or Experience

  • Minimum master’s degree in the Humanities, Social Sciences, Economics or Business
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in program management and development work in Africa
  • Proven experience in leading and motivating teams
  • Strong understanding of monitoring and evaluation methodologies
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills
  • Experience in proposal development and donor relations
  • Fluency in English and a strong understanding of the Ghanaian context
  • Commitment to SEND GHANA's mission and values
  •  Gender research  experience and skills are  important assets
  • Strong research background and advocacy experience are required
