Job Description

  • LOCATION: HEAD OFFICE, ACCRA 
  • REPORT TO: RESEARCH, MONITORING & EVALUATION MANAGER
  • INTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS: All Staff
  • EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS:Statistical Services, National Population Council MOH, Universities Research Institutions, Global Fund SRs, PPAG partners and collaborators

JOB PURPOSE
To assist in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all projects in the Association.

DUTIES
Research

  • Support data collection, cleaning, and analysis processes for research activities.
  • Coordinate all research activities within the association, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Contribute to the development of data analysis plans for all research studies undertaken.

Monitoring

  • Participate in monitoring activities at project sites to ensure project progress and compliance.
  • Support the periodic analysis of performance standards and trends for informed decision-making.
  • Support the management of the association's programmatic database, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
  • Conduct data analysis for both monitoring and research purposes, using appropriate statistical methods and software.

Evaluation

  • Assist in evaluating project effectiveness and impact, in line with project objectives and IPPF standards.
  • Contribute to the compilation and submission of annual and program budgets, incorporating evaluation findings for resource allocation.
  • Support capacity-building initiatives on monitoring and evaluation concepts for staff members.
  • Provide feedback and analysis on the relevance, effectiveness and sustainability of a project
  • DHIS Management
  • Oversee the management of the association's digital information system(DHIS), ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Utilize software tools for data analysis, such as SPSS, R, or STATA, to conduct advanced statistical analysis and generate insights from collected data.
  • Collaborate with IT personnel to troubleshoot technical issues related to the digital information system and implement solutions as needed.
  • Provide training and support to staff members on the use of software tools for data analysis and reporting purposes.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for the DHIS, ensuring consistency and accuracy in data management practices
  • Work closely with the Monitoring & Evaluation Manager to integrate digital information system functionalities into monitoring and evaluation processes, optimizing data collection, analysis, and reporting workflows.

Resource Mobilization and Proposal Writing

  • Assist in proposal writing, fundraising, and resource mobilization efforts to support project sustainability and growth.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to identify funding opportunities and develop compelling proposals.

General Duties

  • Support the management of the Association’s programmatic database
  • Support in the compilation and submission of the Annual and Programme Budget
  • Perform any other duties assigned by immediate supervisor

 

Required Skills or Experience

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Must have first degree in Social Sciences or Demography or Statistics or Computer Sciences, Masters in Public Health or its equivalent with a minimum of three (3) years relevant working experience.

OTHER QUALITIES AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to analyze complex data sets, identify patterns, and draw meaningful insights to inform decision-making processes.
  • Strong attention to detail for ensuring accuracy in data collection, entry, cleaning, and analysis
  • Proficiency in software tools for data analysis, such as SPSS, R, STATA, or other relevant software, is essential for managing the digital information system effectively.
  • Experience in research design, data collection methods, and research analysis techniques
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across different departments and external partners to achieve common goals.
  • Capacity to identify issues, analyze root causes, and develop practical solutions to address challenges in data management and analysis.
  • Dedication to the mission and values of PPAG, with a passion for advancing sexual and reproductive health rights.
