Job Summary
KUO FIRE SAFETY is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day financial transactions, maintain general ledgers, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and assist in preparing accurate financial reports.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Record-Keeping:
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
- Verify that transactions are recorded accurately in the correct accounts, ledgers, and journals.
- Maintain the general ledger by posting journal entries and reconciling accounts.
Bank Reconciliation:
- Reconcile bank statements with the company's financial records to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies found during the reconciliation process.
Accounts Payable:
- Process accounts payable by verifying invoices, obtaining approvals, and issuing payments.
Tax and Compliance:
- Prepare and file monthly VAT returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
- Withhold and remit taxes as required by law.
- Assist with the preparation of tax returns and other compliance documents.
Document Management:
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation.
- Handle import documents for tax payments and liaise with banks regarding financial transactions.
Transaction Processing:
- Write and issue cheques for company expenses and payments.
- Record client cheques in the accounting system and ensure proper allocation of funds.
- Manage the company's petty cash fund and record transactions.
Audit Support:
- Assist external auditors by providing requested documentation and information.
- Prepare for and participate in internal audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
General Administrative Duties:
- Provide administrative support to the accounting team as needed.
- Assist in payroll processing and employee expense reporting.
Required Skills or Experience
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
- 3-5 years of bookkeeping experience.
- Proficiency in software. (ODOO, QUICKBOOKS & TALLY)
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of tax regulations, including VAT and withholding tax.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
