Job Description

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage GPS instruments for coordinate referencing and site setting out.
• Conduct setting out for earthworks, including roads, drainage systems, and building construction.
• Monitor and verify levels for filling and cutting in road and drainage projects.
• Ensure the proper handling, maintenance, and safekeeping of all survey instruments.
• Prepare and organize construction sites before project commencement, including site layout and facilities setup.
• Plan and execute projects in alignment with agreed specifications, budgets, and timelines while overseeing construction activities.
• Review and prepare site reports, technical designs, and survey drawings.
• Implement and maintain quality control measures throughout project execution.
• Conduct reconnaissance surveys and prepare site drawings as part of the land acquisition process.
• Coordinate with external surveyors to ensure seamless completion of assigned survey tasks.

Required Skills or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Geomatic Engineering, Geodetic Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in surveying, geomatics, or civil engineering projects.
• Experience working on construction, infrastructure, or land development projects.
• Membership in a professional body e.g., GhIS is an advantage.
• Ability to adapt to various site conditions and willingness to travel to different project locations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in field measurements and data recording.
• Good communication and reporting skills for liaising with engineers, contractors, and external surveyors.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong time management and ability to meet project deadlines.
