Job Description

  • Location: Oyarifa, Accra
  • Reports To: Executive Director

Are you passionate about education and committed to nurturing young minds? We are seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to serve as our Head of Preschool.

JOB PURPOSE
In this role, we are seeking a dynamic and visionary Head of Preschool to oversee the daily operations and long-term planning of our preschool. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in early childhood education, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
 
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and manage the preschool staff, including teachers and support staff.
  • Develop and implement educational programmes and curricula that meet the needs of all Learners.
  • Oversee learners’ admissions, enrollment, and retention efforts.
  • Monitor and check attendance register.
  • Instill a high level of discipline among staff and learners.
  • Ensure compliance with all national and international regulations and standards.
  • Provide effective supervision of academic work and staff.
  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for Learners.
  • Build strong relationships with parents, staff, and the community.
  • Oversee the budget and financial management of the preschool.
  • Set performance targets for staff, monitor and evaluate performance.
  • Conduct periodic classroom observations and provide feedback to staff.
  • Identify training needs of staff and provide appropriate training and development programmes.
  • Provide monthly, termly, and annual reports and as directed or requested for Management decision making.
  • Undertake any other duties that may be assigned.

Required Skills or Experience

RELEVANT EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION, COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field from an accredited tertiary institution.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development and primary education and regulatory standards.
  • Must possess good communication, presentation, organization and interpersonal skills.
  • Visionary mindset with a commitment to excellence.
  • Must have good stakeholder engagement and people management skills.
  • Ability to provide effective supervision and instil discipline in a learning environment.
  • Flexible, with ability to work with people with diverse background.
  • Ability to motivate team members to deliver results.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in educational leadership role within a preschool or early childhood education setting.
  • Proven experience as Head of School.
