Job Description

Happy Heart (Montessori) School (HHS) is a reputable private institution in Dome Pillar 2 providing basic level education. HHS invites applications from experienced, results- oriented and highly motivated individuals for the positions of English Language Facilitator for appointment in their JHS and Primary departments.

The English Language Facilitator is also a class teacher. He/she is directly responsible to the Head of School and ultimately to the CEO

Duties/Responsibilities

The English Language Facilitator shall:

i. promote and safeguard welfare of pupils and staff;

ii. ensure improvement in teaching, learning and curriculum implementation;

iii. ensure the achievement of excellent academic standards in assigned subject areas;

iv. promote school discipline;

Duties

You will be required to perform a range of tasks on a daily basis, which may include:

i. Prepare daily and long-term lesson plans according to curriculum guidelines.

ii. Develop children’s interests, abilities and coordination using a variety of

creative activities including art, sport and music.

iii. Maintain productive working habits and discipline in the classroom.

iv. Supervise students throughout the day, both in the classroom and outside during breaks.

v. Attend staff meetings and training and development sessions.

vi. Assess and evaluate students’ educational progress and abilities.

vii. Set and conduct testing/ assessment

viii. Discuss students’ progress with parents and guardians, administrators and other professionals as necessary.

ix. Organise, attend and supervise school activities such as excursions, school concerts, camps and sporting events.

Required Skills or Experience

Candidates seeking appointment to this position must:
i. be a University or College of Education graduate with a Degree or Diploma in English Language
ii. have taught in a JHS for a minimum of 2-3 years with a proven track record of achieving excellent BECE results in English Language in the schools they taught
iii. be computer literate, adept in Microsoft suite (particularly Word and EXCEL)
