The applicant should be able to: 

• To participate in the University's teaching and research activities in the Academic Success Unit, as follows: Teaching, examining, and administrative duties on the English proficiency programme as required. 
• Contribute to the curriculum development and the design of individual courses offered within the English proficiency programme. 
• Identify learning needs of students, plan and design the development of learning objectives, and develop teaching materials, methods and approaches 
• Design, synthesise, create and deliver high-quality programme contributions across a range of settings including lecturing, small-group tutorials, practical laboratory classes and design project activities 
• To engage in scholarly activity in the English proficiency programme 

Required Skills or Experience

• Master's Degree preferably MPhil. degree in English from reputable tertiary institution. 
• Minimum of 3 years post qualification relevant working experience in Higher Education Institution (HEI). 
• Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (International) (or equivalent) will be desirable. 
• A certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) is an added advantage.
