Job Description

  • Position location: Oti, Bono East, Northern, Volta  
  • Reporting to:  Regional Project Officer 
  • Contract term: 2 years with possibility for extension 
  • Associates: Project Officers
Objectives Of The Position
To ensure effective coordination, planning, execution, and monitoring of planned activities in district to enable SEND Ghana accomplish its responsibilities as the lead on Ecosystem Development for the FILMA program.
 
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
A. Project Coordination
  • Shall prepare and submit activity plans and budgets for approval
  • Shall prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, semi- annual and-annual reports of all implemented activities in the district
  • To build relationship with stakeholders in both the financial, agricultural, and adjacent sectors in the implementation of FILMA project activities. 
  • Shall coordinate the activities of District Working Groups to amplify the voices young women and PWDs
  • Shall coordinate the activities of Multipurpose cooperatives at district, zonal and Community levels 
  • Plan and conduct training for SILCs/ VSLAs, Multipurpose Cooperatives, Private Agriculture Service Providers on advocacy and cooperative development 
  • Facilitate recruitment, training, monitoring, and mentoring of Gender Model Families across project communities 
  • Assist in the conduct of Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation (PM&E) exercises in the district 
  • Monitor and report on the performance indicators of the project in relation to ecosystem development
  • Compile success stories and project results in relation to ecosystem development 

Required Skills or Experience

Education and work experience required. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in development studies, Agricultural Science, Economics, Rural Development, Environmental Sciences, and related disciplines, 
  • A minimum of three (3) years on public policy advocacy, local governance, , access to finance and agricultural development 
  • Experience in working in a development program promoting access to finance for young women and men, single mothers and PWDs in Agriculture and adjacent sectors.
  • Experience in community level mobilisation, working with social groups, cooperatives and District Assemblies

  • Research and analysis
  • Good understanding of access to finance for young women and PWDs
  • Youth and Gender sensitive project implementation techniques
  • Computer skills for reporting, planning, monitoring and presentation 
  • Report writing and communication skills
  • Good presentation and facilitation skills
