Job Description
The Agi Operator is responsible for transporting and delivering concrete, shotcrete ort other materials in mining operations. The role involves batching, concrete mixes, installing and repairing services, and operating shotcretes.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operating an underground agitator (concrete) truck safely in confined spaces.
- Conducting pre-start and post-operation checks on the agitator truck.
- Driving through tunnels and decline ramps while adhering to underground traffic rules.
- Adjusting driving techniques to suit different ground conditions and gradients.
- Ensuring the correct ratio of materials and maintaining consistency during transport
- Mixing, agitating, and delivering concrete or shotcrete to designated area.
- Discharging concrete efficiently to designated areas, such as tunnel linings and ground support structures.
- Following underground mining safety protocols and procedures.
- Using proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Identifying and reporting hazards such as unstable ground or ventilation issues.
- Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, such as preventing spills.
- Monitoring hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical components for faults.
- Working closely with shotcrete crews, mining engineers, and shift supervisors.
- Communicating via radio or mine communication systems to coordinate deliveries.
- Keeping accurate records of concrete usage and deliveries.
- Reporting any equipment issues to the maintenance team for prompt repairs.
Required Skills or Experience
- A minimum of one (1) year experience in Agi - field.
- progressively responsible experience in a similar role, preferably in a gold mining environment.
- Must possess a valid Ghanaian driving and operating licenses (C & E Classes) and able to drive manual SUV.
- Must be able to operate and have experience in operating Agi equipment.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to Agi Machinery.
- Flexibility and willingness to assist with varied tasks and responsibilities.
- Willingness to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions
- Must demonstrate strong work ethics and be able to communicate courteously with co-workers.
- Hazard identification and risk assessment knowledge and skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and have the desire to learn and achieve.
- Ability to workday and night rotation.
- Good verbal and written communication in English.
