Job Description

Purpose
Credit linked micrinsurance and family health insurance has become a strategic product which WV and VF collaborate tleverage expertise and operations. This would help tdeepen our commitment tthe most vulnerable children and focus our ministry for greater impact. The Manager will champion this course and any other that may become relevant in order tcontinually deliver impact tthe target beneficiaries/clients.
 
Role and responsibilities
  • Manage and lead the insurance team in VFG:
    • Recruit, integrate, train, monitor and manage the team of insurance officers
    • Develop training material for staff training
    • Train and monitor the product knowledge trelated stakeholders especially sales team tmake sure they are able tsell
    • Conduct and support technical training on insurance tloan officers, VF & WV sales teams, WVG and VFG management
  • Support the Insurance policies administration:
    • Be a custodian of all policy documents and procedures
    • Support all staff involved in insurance activities tensure
      • Proper recording of all underwriting documents needed and follow SLA/MoU/contract procedures
      • Proper recording of insurance premium amounts within core banking system
      • MFI submits lists of all insured on time tinsurers
      • Ensure that claims are processed within SLA/MoU/contract procedures
    • Follow through all claims with insurers tensure TAT adhered tfor all products
    • Ensure timely provision of risk notes and invoice by insurance companies
  • Monitor the insurance product performance
    • Continuously provide insights intways which efficiencies needed within the business process can be made
    • Monitor the product performance as per defined KPIEnsure good quality of service tcustomer:
    • Assist twork with marketing team tprepare marketing communication of insurance products including videtensure they are well and effectively communicated in market.
    • Coordinate with Branches/Point of sale tensure proper underwriting information for their clientele is collected and filed appropriately
    • Follow through tensure proper clientele training is undertaken by insurance officers, loan officers, field officers and WV sales teams
  • Product development support:
    • Conduct marketing research tidentify the product pricing and competitor’s analysis tensure the MFI stays competitive in the market
    • Insights intnew and potential areas of new product markets.
    • Lead annual products review and product development activities
  • Insurance reports:
    • Prepare day tday report on enrolment and claims
    • Prepare monthly report on MFI’s insurance KPI and provide report tVFI, MFI management and insurance company.
    • Prepare monthly report on insurance costs and revenue
    • Report on social performance improvements through insurance benefits
    • Support communication team, prepare client stories for feeding intVFI webpages
  • Evaluation:
    • Conduct the evaluation of the product and be pro-active in any improvement related tthe product development and enhancement
    • Coordinate with the focal person on Savings Group side.
    • Perform any other tasks assigned by supervisor.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Must be a practicing Christian
  • Bachelor’s degree in banking and finance or business management or related fields.
  • At least 3-year experience in consumer banking, insurance or financial services industry.
  • Prior digital banking service experience is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge in insurance, analytical, quantitative, problem solving, communication (written and verbal), presentation, relationship management skills.
  • Be proficient in English both speaking and writing.
  • Be innovative, dynamic, and confident.
