Job Description

A reputable Pest control company in Accra is looking for an experieced and self motivated Accounting officer who is an excellent multitasker with exceptional communication and management skills.

Sucessful candidates will:

  • Providing support to the Accounting Department.
  • Processing transactions, issuing checks, and updating ledgers, budgets, etc
  • Manage and maintain accounting records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and other financial data.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements to provide insights and recommendations to management.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecast.
  • Assist in managing the company's financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and auditing. Ensure that the financial transactions, policies, and procedures meet the organization's short and long-term business objectives and are conducted in accordance with regulations, accounting principles, and standards.
  • Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly and annual financial statements. Ensure the timely reporting of key financial data and updates to the CEO and other key stakeholders.
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions. This includes tax planning and compliance with the state (Ghana) tax regulations.
  • Ensure cash flow is appropriate for the organization's operations
  • Prepare reliable current and forecasting reports.
  • Prepare monthly cash book, monthly petty cash, monthly ledgers, trial balance.
  • Prepare financial statements.
  • Prepare periodic (monthly, quarterly, Mid-year and annual) financial reports.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements.
  • Participate in financial audits
  • Budget preparation
  • Calculate and prepare cheques for utilities, taxes and other payments
  • Compute deductions for payroll payables (taxes and Social Security)
  • Prepare monthly payroll.
  • Management of petty cash.
  • Assist in streamlining and improving the accounts payable process.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Must possess excellent analytical skills with strong work commitment and be able to multi task
  • Knowledge in general accounting and bookkeeping principles
  • First Degree in accounting, HND or DBS.
  • Good Computer skills and knowledge of Accounting systems/sofwares - Quick books,Tally, MS Office suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
