Job Description

Project Title
Development of Informational/Educational Materials for ISODEC’s Energy Transition Project
 
 
Background
The Integrated Social Development Centre (ISODEC) aims to increase public knowledge and engagement on energy transition in the communities around the Ewoyaa Lithium Mine in Ghana. This initiative is part of a broader project to ensure that natural resource extraction benefits all, with a focus on sustainable energy and inclusive development.
The Ewoyaa Lithium Mine is central to Ghana’s future energy landscape due to lithium's critical role in renewable energy technologies. However, awareness about energy transition policies and the benefits of lithium extraction is limited, especially in rural and less educated communities. To bridge this knowledge gap, ISODEC plans to develop and disseminate informational/educational materials on the subject.
 
Objectives
  1. Increase public awareness of energy transition policies and the role of lithium in sustainable energy.
  2. Provide clear, accessible information to diverse audiences, including communities, local leaders, and policymakers.
  3. Encourage community engagement and participation in discussions about energy transition and resource extraction.

Develop Terms of Reference (TOR)
1. Design and Development:

  • Create draft designs for posters, factsheets, leaflets, and infographics.
  • Ensure designs are visually appealing, easy to understand, and culturally appropriate.

2. Stakeholder Review:

  • Present draft materials to the ISODEC Steering Committee and key stakeholders for feedback.
  • Incorporate feedback to refine and finalize the materials.

3. Production:

  • Print the final versions of posters, factsheets, leaflets, and infographics of the following dimensions:

4. 600 pieces of posters: Visual representations highlighting key aspects of energy transition and the importance of lithium mining.

5. 1500 pieces of Factsheets: Concise documents providing essential information on energy transition policies, lithium mining.

6. 1500 pieces of Leaflets: Detailed pamphlets elaborating on the benefits, challenges, and community involvement in energy transition.

7. Infographics: Visual data presentations illustrating the impact of lithium mining and the energy transition process

8. Proof reading of the final product:  Ensure high-quality production for durability and readability.

24th August - 20th Sept. 2024
By developing and disseminating these educational materials, ISODEC aims to foster a well-informed, engaged, and proactive community that actively participates in shaping Ghana's energy future.

Required Skills or Experience

ISODEC is therefore seeking for consultant with the following expertise and experience: 

  • Designing and type setting 
  • Has knowledge and experience working with NGOs, knowledge about the concept of energy transition will be an added advantage.
  • Has expertise in communication, graphic design, and content development to provide a financial quotation to undertake the assignment under the following TOR
