Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Facilities and Assets Technician will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and overseeing the company’s physical assets, including buildings, machinery, and equipment. The ideal candidate will ensure all facilities are in optimal working condition and comply with safety regulations. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assisting in execution of the facility maintenance schedule
  • Responsible for periodic (scheduled) assessments and inspections of facilities together with Facilities Engineer.
  • Conduct daily facility checks 
  • Install and maintain electrical power, lighting and controls systems for the TAGG building and ECSD.
  • Read blue print of electrical and technical diagrams.
  • Preparing the grounds for sub-contractors by providing temporal lights and power source for their job execution.
  • Responsible for bringing to the Facilities Manager any facility issues that may affect the physical safety and well-being of any person on the premises.
  • Carrying out all responsibilities according to group policies and within budget allocations
  • Resolving identified hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair by prompting the facilities Engineer. 
  • Repair or replace wiring, equipment or fixtures using hand tools and power tools. 
  • Inspect electrical components such as transformers and circuit breakers. 
  • Install and understand the workings of a UPS system. 
  • Any other related duties assigned.
OHSE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Knowledge of and adherence to all TAGG’s OHS&E procedures 
  • Follow all safe work procedures, rules, and instructions
  • Risk Assessment 
  • Hazard identification and reporting
  • Knowledge on the safe use of all tools and equipment as applicable 

Required Skills or Experience

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

  • HND in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related qualification of the built environment.
  • Minimum of three (3) years proven experience as a Facilities Technician, Maintenance Technician, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
