Job Description

  • Location: Accra

Purpose
This key management role shall primarily drive the positioning of the Institution on the market to reflect the unique attribute of VisionFund Ghana as a viable financial institution with a strong focus on both financial and business performance. The Marketing and Communications Manager shall be responsible for managing key activities’ such as; branding, product and services marketing, client interface management, and working with assigned resources to achieve agreed objectives. The person will also manage the day to day activities of the department and ensure the realisation of the strategic marketing and communications objectives of the Institution.

Major Responsibility

  • Manage, develop and coordinate all marketing campaign and strategies for the Institution and activities within the marketing department
  • Creation and publication of all marketing material in line with marketing plans
  • Planning and implementing promotional campaigns
  • Manage and improve lead generation campaigns, measuring results
  • Working closely with design agencies, research agencies and assisting with new product launches
  • Maintain effective internal communications to ensure that all relevant company functions are kept informed of marketing objective
  • Develop an integrated communications strategy for the Institution
  • Implement communications plan to increase brand awareness and recognition for the Institution
  • Developing relationships with key media to secure and grow media coverage both online and offline
  • Collate and analyse communications and messages and ensure consistency
  • Develop and lead the Institution’s internal communication strategy
  • Working with the Global communications team to align in-country communications initiatives to Global standards
  • Lead in the Marketing communications and initiatives of VFG and ensure those communication messages are consistent with the VFG brand.
  • Advice Management on the branding of VF Ghana.
  • To be actively involved in all spiritual activities of the Institution.
  • To perform any other duties that will be assigned to you by your Supervisor or his/her designee.

 

Required Skills or Experience

Qualification

  • Bachelor degree in Marketing
  • Qualified Chartered Marketer/ Masters degree in Marketing is an added advantage
  • Strong analytical and project management skills
  • Confident and dynamic personality
  • Minimum of 3 years practical experience as a Marketing and Communications Manager for a similar Institution or role with proven track records would be a strong advantage.
  • Highly articulate individual with excellent written communications and presentation skills are essential.
  • A practicing Christian

Desirable Qualities

  • Must have good public relations skills and relate well with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Have a good knowledge in microfinance methodologies, products and services
  • Must be very conversant with VF Ghana’s core objectives and mode of operation
  • Must be dynamic, innovative and self-motivated
  • Must be willing and able to work effectively under pressure and be goal oriented.
  • Must be a team player who believes in teamwork
  • Must be willing to travel across the branch network to provide leadership/support them with their marketing initiatives.
