Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Baker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a range of delicious baked goods, including breads, pastries, cakes, and more. You will ensure the products meet quality standards and are baked in a timely manner, adhering to health and safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and bake a variety of bread, pastries, and other baked goods following recipes or specifications.
  • Measure and mix ingredients accurately to produce consistent results.
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, including mixers, ovens, and other baking tools.
  • Ensure that baking supplies are well-stocked and ingredients are fresh.
  • Monitor baking processes to ensure items are baked to perfection, adjusting oven temperatures and timings as needed.
  • Decorate and finish baked goods as required (e.g., icing cakes, adding garnishes).
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to food safety standards.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Manage inventory and place orders for ingredients and supplies as needed.
  • Experiment with new recipes and innovate products to keep the menu fresh.
  • Follow and enforce hygiene, safety, and cleanliness standards in the workplace

Required Skills or Experience

  • Proven experience as a Baker or in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of baking techniques and recipes.
  • Ability to work early morning shifts or flexible hours as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a kitchen environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy ingredients or equipment.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with bread baking (sourdough, whole wheat, etc.) and pastry arts.
  • Culinary or baking certification is a plus.
  • Creative ability to decorate cakes and pastries
