Job Description

  • Location: Amasaman, Accra

Purpose
Lead and manage VisionFund Ghana's new centralized credit appraisal initiative (HUB), ensuring efficient and accurate lending processes while maintaining high standards of risk management and regulatory compliance.

Major Responsibility

  • Lead and manage the HUB team, including Credit Analysts and Underwriters, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance management.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of credit policies, procedures, and risk assessment methodologies for the centralized appraisal process.
  • Collaborate with senior management to set strategic goals for the HUB and align its operations with VisionFund Ghana's overall mission and objectives.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to loan processing efficiency, risk management, and portfolio quality.
  • Liaise with branch managers and other departments to ensure smooth communication and integration of the centralized credit appraisal process.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in credit risk management and lending processes.
  • Continuously improve the HUB's operations through process optimization, technology adoption, and team member development.
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including regulators and auditors,ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to senior management on the HUB's performance, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.

Required Skills or Experience

Qualification

  • Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications in banking or risk management are highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the financial services sector, with at least 5 years in a senior role overseeing credit operations or risk management.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing teams in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of credit analysis, underwriting processes, and risk management practices in the microfinance.
