Job Description USAID Ghana Fiscal Accountability Strengthening Activity (FASA)
PROJECT BACKGROUND The USAID funded Ghana Fiscal Accountability Strengthening Activity (FASA) will work in key areas of Ghana’s public financial management (PFM) ecosystem to enhance the accountability, transparency, and efficiency of public expenditures. After the country defaulted in 2022, significantly raising the cost of living for most Ghanaians, international and domestic attention turned to the government. Building on the foundation laid by previous reforms, FASA will partner with key Ghanaian institutions such as the Ghana Audit Service and the Controller and Accountant General’s Department to raise the bar for fiscal accountability at national and subnational levels.
POSITION PURPOSE
The Communications Manager is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy for the project, promote its objectives, and disseminate information to key stakeholders. This includes managing media relations, developing and distributing communication materials, and overseeing the Activity's social media presence. The Communications Manager will organize meetings, document best practices, and share lessons learned. S/he will work report to the Chief of Party and work with the Deputy Chief of Party, Civil Society & Media Engagement Specialist, SBC Expert and the Monitoring Evaluation and Learning Manager to develop a detailed communications plan for the activity.
The Communications Manager will serve as the FASA focal point with USAID to ensure the FASA communications materials, social media content and related communications information is in compliance with USAID branding and marking standards and requirements.
