Job Description

Rainforest Alliance is seeking a service provider to submit quotes for the supply of PPE’s (Cutlass and Wellington boots) for farmers in naturing tree seedlings planted by smallholder farmers in Sui River Landscape (Bibiani area) to help in adaptation and mitigation against the climate change and harsh weather conditions.

Background

The Rainforest Alliance (RA) is currently using the Integrated Landscape Management (ILM) approach to empower communities to lead discussions and build their capacity to manage and oversee the effective conservation of natural resources and restoration of degraded lands in the Sui River Landscape. RA has been working with partners since 2017 and has established three landscape management boards (LMB) in the Sui River landscape with the vision of having the LMBs become self-sustaining and self-governing in the coming years. The LMB, as part of its core mandate, has the responsibility to work with forest communities to conserve biodiversity in the landscape corridors and increase the resilience, income, and food security of smallholder farmers. With funding received from TOMS foundation under the “(Regenerative Agriculture in the Sui River Landscape) projects. The LMB is seeking to support 2500 farmers in the Sui River Landscape with Cutlass and wellington boots as PPE’S to help maintain planted seedlings by farmers.

In view of this, the LMB is inviting vendors to submit quotations for the supply of PPE’s (Cutlass and Wellington boots).

Objective

The LMB is seeking to support 2,500 farmers with PPEs in the Sui River Landscape. The service provider will be responsible for the supply of quality and durable cutlass and wellington boots to the LMB farmers.

Geographical Coverage of the service

The location for the supplier of the items is the Sui River landscape. The Sui River landscape consist of 4 districts located within the Western North Region. The four districts are Sefwi Wiawso, Sefwi Akontombra, Bodi and Bibiani-Anhiawso-Bekwai district. The supplier is expected to deliver all items purchased within 30 days from the time of the agreement.

Services

The specific services required include the following.

  1. Provide Cutlass and Wellington boots with the required quality to LMB farmers. The full package required is tabled below.

b. Provide transportation services to deliver PPEs from supplier location to centralized location in Sefwi Wiawso and Bibiani.

General Terms and Conditions

Bidding is restricted to Ghanaian citizens/vendors, or companies with capacity to work in Sefwi landscape.

  • The Rainforest Alliance reserves the right to request additional information at any time during the procurement process.
  • RA is at liberty to make multiple or no selections as part of the proposal process. RA also reserves the right to cancel the procurement
  • Payment is normally effected within 30 days from the receipts of compliant invoice. The invoicing must comply with all the financial accounting regulations of RA.
  • The successful vendor may be required if necessary to sign a Contract Form which will be provided by the Rainforest Alliance.

Vendors who apply should be able to demonstrate the following

  • Experience with delivering high-quality products to tight budgets
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Priority will be given to vendor located closer or within the landscape
