Job Description

Under the guidance and supervision of the Board of Directors and working with a highly skilled and dedicated team, the CEO will provide strategic leadership and direction to management and the organization as a whole. Shareholders will rely on you to develop, implement and monitor the company’s strategic business plan, effectively manage business risks and compliance, and ensure effective relationships with regulators and industry stakeholders. Among other responsibilities, the CEO’s work will focus on: ê

  1. Strategic Leadership Formulate and execute comprehensive business plans to achieve financial targets and market expansion, and drive the company’s transformational agenda.
  2. Financial Management Oversee financial performance, ensuring achievement of revenue and profitability goals.
  3. Market Positioning and Growth Vigorously identify and capitalize on market opportunities to enhance the company's market share and support business growth.
  4. Risk Management Implement robust risk management practices to safeguard the company's assets and reputation, stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to make informed decisions.
  5. Relationship Management Build on existing strong engagements with industry players, nurture and develop corporate relationships to ensure client acquisition and business retention.
  6. Operational Excellence Streamline and enhance operational processes to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction, and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the organization.
  7. Corporate Governance Uphold high standards of corporate governance, compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, and ethical conduct throughout the organization.
  8. Talent/Team Management Provide credible and agile leadership, foster a positive and inclusive work environment, and promote a culture which enables customer focus and optimum performance.
  9. Brand Management Enhance & protect our Brand and implement effective marketing & communication strategies

Required Skills or Experience

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Holder of a University Degree from a reputable Institution.
  2. ACII or equivalent.
  3. Master’s Degree in Business Administration or related qualification.
  4. In-depth knowledge of the Ghanaian and global insurance market, regulatory environment, and industry best practices.
  5. Fifteen (15) years relevant work experience, with seven (7) years in a senior management position in the insurance industry at C-Suite.

Required Skills

  1. Strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
  2. Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.
  3. Networking and marketing competencies, and ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels. Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a diverse team.
  4. Sound decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  5. Excellent negotiating and lobbying skills.
