Job Description

MSI Reproductive Choices Ghana has vacancies for passion driven, well-organised, client-oriented and energetic individuals with the below relevant qualification/s and experience located in Accra. MSI Ghana’s goal is to meet the needs of the underserved and improve access to the use of Family Planning (FP) and other Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) services. The Marketing Coordinator will assist the Head of Marketing to develop and implement the marketing strategies for MSI Ghana, including community entry Sexual and Reproductive Health demand generation strategies for MSI service delivery channels. The job holder is responsible for leading and coordinating efforts aimed at identifying new and innovative ways to meet market demand and communicating effectively with target audiences.

He/she will coordinate channel specific strategies by working with a team of Client Activation Officers, Bluestar Officer and Health Promotion Officers based in MSI operational regions to create the enabling environment that informs and facilitates service uptake.

Key Responsibilities
Pillar 1- Position MSIG as leader in SRH by increasing Service Uptake through Sustainable Strategies (35%)

  • Coordinating meetings with GHS Health Promotion Unit (National, Regional and District) to adapt family planning demand generations that fit GHS strategies and suggest adoption of new tools/methods for sustainable demand generation.
  • Lead in the development of communication materials that will drive awareness of family planning services within PSS sites.
  • Ensure visibility and good use of the brand in all interventions. More concretely, to permanently ensure a good physical and mental awareness of MSG brand in PSS sites.
  • Participate in technical and/or coordination working groups for SBCC and FP/SRHR with MSG partners.
  • Ensure strategies are implemented to ensure steady increase in the number of clients who assess Family planning services within PSS sites.
  • Monitor and evaluate the activities, analyze the results and propose appropriate solutions for their improvement.
  • Develop and implement quarterly action plans and annual supervision budgets
  • Ensure regular training on SBCC, tooling (Job aids, posters etc) and good management of Community Based mobilisers for sustained high performance.
  • Lead the sensitization, engagement and signing of MoUs with identified partner organisations (including Ghana Health Service), CBOs, youth and people living with disabilities.
  • Adopt strategies for sensitization and mobilisation of community leaders, men and/or other identified influencing groups on Family Planning.

Pillar 1- Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation of planned demand generation strategy for PSS channel (10%)

  • Work with MSG Health Promotion Officers to develop and sign off OTIF Quarterly DG plans for all PSS Sites.
  • Develop systems for measuring / tracking impact of interventions developed in collaboration with M&E.
  • Ensure regular internal cross-team data review and learning meetings are organized with internal stakeholders
  • Ensure documentation and sharing of all field learnings.

Pillar 1- Adolescent and Youth Demand (10%)

  • Work with the Youth and Advocacy team to lead the embedding of the adolescent strategy in PSS channels and support HPOs to implement best practices from the adolescent success model through in-country
  • Provide hands-on support to the Youth team, the PSS channel Lead to improve their demand creation strategies through analysis of existing activities and application of best practices and Success Model recommendations, problem solving common issues in adolescent programming.
  • Coordinate regular updates of the adolescent demand activities and leading from all PSS team and share with key stakeholders
  • Participate in GHS and other working groups on SRH awareness creation for adolescents

Pillar 2 & 3 – Centres and Social marketing (40%)

  • Support the Head of Marketing to establish rigorous approaches to marketing MSI’s core services in our clinics including positioning, branding and budgeting.
  • Supervise planning and execution of DG strategies by Client Activation Officers in respective regions
  • Actively responsible for driving client footfall and service uptake in Premier and Kasoa clinics
  • Support the Social Marketing team to develop marketing launch plans for new products
  • Collaborate Social Marketing team with product promotion strategies to drive awareness, positioning and placement of MSI core social marketing products through ATL, BTL, and Digital channel mix.
  • Support with rapid insight gathering on consumer trends and preferences for all direct-to-consumer social marketing products (EC, condoms and PTK)
  • Support the design, pre-testing, and printing of communication materials to create awareness on all social marketing products.

Other (5%)

  • Lead donor report writing and submissions with support from the Head of Marketing
  • Lead the collations and publishing for MSIG quarterly newsletter
  • Any other duties which will ensure the smooth and effective running of MSI Ghana.
  • Participate in occasional regional or international meetings and trainings as part of the MSI partnership requirements.

Required Skills or Experience

To succeed in this role, you must have:

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Health Promotions, Communications, Social Sciences, PR is ideal
  • At least 5 years of relevant post- graduation work experience with community mobilisation and/or marketing activations.
  • Master’s Degree in Marketing, would be an advantage
  • Other CIM Level 7 professional qualification
  • A strong supporter of the cause of family planning and a woman’s right to safe abortion (Pro-choice).
  • Resilient, flexible, positive attitude and can thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Health Promotion within Ghana Health Service.
  • Proven experience in product marketing. Especially pharmaceutical products is a must.
  • Proven ability to engage multiple stakeholders across different teams to engage with project content effectively
  • Experience in marketing to young people.
  • Pro-choice
  • Understanding to women and men seeking Family Planning and Reproductive Health services
  • Be able to work on own initiative
  • Customer focused with good interpersonal skills to engage with people at all levels –government, donor and community
  • Passionate about maternal health
  • Motivates team members to deliver high quality service and results, and is able to give constructive honest feedback
