CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST
ACTIONAID GHANA (AAG) COUNTRY STRATEGY PAPER (CSP) VII BASELINE STUDY


ActionAid Ghana (AAG) completed the implementation of its Country Strategy Paper (CSP) VI over the period 2018 to 2022, which made remarkable social change impact. Subsequently, CSP VII was developed titled ‘Active Citizenship for Social Justice’ for implementation over the period of 2023 to 2028. CSP VII is essentially a call to action by social movements, activists, communities, people’s organisations, youth groups, women’s groups, CSO partners, and other stakeholders. The aim is to promote development alternatives that embed and support the advancement of feminist, just, resilient and sustainable social transformation that offers equitable opportunities and nurtures a society devoid of injustice, gender inequality and poverty. 

Notably, AAG’s programme interventions over the CSP VII period revolves around three (3) Strategic Priorities (SPs) and 15 Focused Areas (FAs). Refer to the Terms of Reference (ToR) for the assignment to see the detailed outline of AAG programme priorities.

Required Skills or Experience

Requirements and Experience of the Consultant
The consultancy firm or individual/s must demonstrate the following requirements in their application to be considered for the Job. 
  • A post graduate degree, specifically PhD in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Public Policy or other related fields.
  • Demonstrate at least 10years experience in conducting research, specifically baseline studies, related to social justice, gender equality, climate justice, agroecology, economic empowerment and socio-economic development.
  • Knowledge on women rights, feminist programming and MEL with capacity to design, review and evaluate such programmes. 
  • Experience working with social movements or being part of networks, human rights defenders, civil society organizations and other self-mobilized groups. 
  • Understanding of Human Rights Based Approaches and undertaking power analysis.
  • Applying participatory methodologies to reviews or any other related processes.
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and oral demonstrated in their ability to write comprehensive reports with in-depth analysis.
  • Ability to work in multicultural, multi-religious and rural communities. 
  • Should have extensive knowledge of international development work with expertise in implementing development plans and strategies, ability to analyse policies and context. 
  • Have an in-depth qualitative and quantitative research skills.
  • Understanding and experience with change management processes.
