Job Description

We are seeking a Youth Programs Coordinator to join our team in Tamale. This position is ideal for someone passionate about women’s empowerment, program coordination, and mentorship, with a proven ability to inspire young women to reach their full potential.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Youth Programs Coordinator will oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of our fellowship and youth programs. Working in collaboration with Create Change Foundation in Canada, this role focuses on program delivery, mentorship,capacity building, and organizational support. The coordinator will play a critical role in equipping our fellows—young women leaders with the tools to deliver impactful programs in their communities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Program Design and Implementation (35%)

  • Lead the planning and rollout of youth and gender empowerment programs, including workshops, timelines, budgets, and tools for monitoring and evaluation.
  • Oversee the daily implementation of fellowship programs, ensuring smooth operations and resource management.
  • Conduct needs assessments to refine program structures and address, challenges faced by marginalized youth.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify strategic priorities and design new initiatives that empower young women to lead community development.
  • Ensure youth and gender perspectives are embedded in program activities, decisions, and policies.

2. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting (20%)

  • Implement systems to track program progress, gather feedback, and measure impact.
  • Lead data collection, analysis, and reporting to assess outcomes and inform decision-making.
  • Prepare program reports highlighting successes, lessons learned, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Document best practices and ensure continuous learning to strengthen program delivery.

3. Capacity Building and Mentorship (30%)

  • Deliver ongoing mentorship and training for fellows, equipping them with skills to implement programs confidently and effectively.
  • Design and facilitate training modules to address fellows' development needs, enhancing their leadership and program management abilities.
  • Foster a supportive and collaborative environment that enables fellows to overcome challenges and grow as leaders.
  • Provide guidance on delivering education, literacy, and training initiatives within rural communities.

4. Advocacy and Partnerships (10%)

  • Represent CCG at youth and women-focused events, conferences, and forums to strengthen partnerships and visibility.
  • Build relationships with government stakeholders, NGOs, and community leaders to advocate for youth empowerment and gender equity.
  • Contribute to strategic networking efforts to position CCG as a leader in grassroots change for young women.

5. Additional Responsibilities (5%)

  • Support program-related administrative tasks, including budgeting and logistics.
  • Assist with other duties as required to further CCG’s mission and goals.

Required Skills or Experience

Education and Experience

  • Masters degree in development studies, education, gender studies, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in program coordination, mentorship, or youth empowerment roles.
  • Proven ability to implement and manage community-based initiatives.
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation, impact measurement, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with education, rural community development, or women’s empowerment programs, particularly in Northern Ghana.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional mentorship and facilitation abilities, inspiring young women to thrive.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strategic thinker with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Fluency in English is required; fluency in Dagbani is an asset.
