Job Description

Our Expectations
We are seeking a passionate,dedicated and patiente Grade 1 Teacher to join our team preferably someone residing at Oyibi or its vicinity. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about early childhood education, skilled in classroom management, and committed to fostering academic and personal growth in young learners.

The Grade 1 Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality education to young learners, ensuring that lesson plans, assessments, and classroom management align with the school's educational objectives. Their goal is to foster a positive learning environment, promote student engagement, and support the academic and personal development of each student. By collaborating with colleagues and maintaining effective communication with parents, the Grade 1 Teacher plays a pivotal role in contributing to the school’s overall success and the holistic growth of students.

Key Responsibilities
1. Planning and Preparation

  • Develop lesson plans and curriculum materials tailored to Grade 1 students.
  • Prepare engaging teaching materials and resources.
  • Set clear learning objectives and measurable outcomes.

2. Teaching and Instruction

  • Deliver interactive and well-structured lessons.
  • Provide individualized instruction and support to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Encourage student participation and maintain engagement in all activities.

3. Assessment and Evaluation

  • Design and administer assessments to evaluate student understanding.
  • Monitor and track student progress and performance.
  • Provide constructive feedback to guide student improvement.

4. Classroom Management

  • Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Establish and maintain classroom rules and routines.
  • Effectively manage student behavior while promoting positive discipline.

5. Communication and Collaboration

  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and guardians.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum delivery and student success.
  • Engage with the broader school community to support holistic development.

6. Professional Development:

  • Participate in workshops, training, and other professional growth opportunities.
  • Stay updated on the latest educational research and teaching methods.
  • Reflect on and refine teaching practices regularly.

7. Record Keeping and Administration:

  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and assessments.
  • Complete administrative reports and documentation as required.
  • Ensure effective management of classroom supplies and resources.

Required Skills or Experience

Qualifications and Skills

  • Diploma in Montessori Education or a related field (specialization in Early Childhood Education is an advantage).
  • Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience at the primary level.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patient and Empathy
  • Proficiency in classroom management and student engagement techniques.
