IPA is looking to recruit a passionate and skilled individual to join our team as a Bag Stitching Skills Trainer for our Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) project aimed at empowering village communities.
Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate and skilled individual to join our team as a Bag Stitching Skills Trainer for our Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) project aimed at empowering village communities. The Skills Trainer will be responsible for facilitating training workshops to teach participants practical skills in bag stitching. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on rural development and community empowerment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct training sessions for village participants based on the project's objectives and curriculum.
- Utilize participatory methods and interactive techniques to engage participants and ensure effective learning outcomes.
- Provide hands-on demonstrations and practical guidance to participants on new skills in bag stitching.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages active participation and collaboration among participants.
- Monitor and evaluate participants' progress throughout the training program, providing feedback and support as needed.
- Collaborate with project team members to coordinate logistics, assess training needs, and adapt curriculum as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of training activities, and evaluation data for reporting purposes.
Required Skills or Experience
- At Least a BECE certification
- Proven experience as a trainer or facilitator, particularly in rural or community settings.
- Strong knowledge and expertise in dressmaking and bag stitching.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse groups of participants.
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver effective training programs, incorporating participatory and experiential learning methods.
- Sensitivity to cultural differences and an understanding of the challenges faced by rural communities.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Fluency in Dagbani and Likpakpaln
- Residence within Mion, Tolon, Kumbungu and Karaga District of the Northern Region or willingness to travel to rural villages within Mion, Karaga, Kumbungu and Tolon Districts for training sessions as required.
