ABOUT THE ROLE

The Automation and Controls Engineer is responsible for Automation and Controls projects and also executes research and development, and software development jobs in the department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Design & Implement Automation Solutions
- Providing advanced automation, monitoring, and management systems across industries, including:
- Building & Home Automation – Smart control for efficient operations.
- Industrial & Process Automation – PLC, SCADA, batching, and dosing systems.
- Energy & Utility Management – Solar PV, water tracking, and purification.
- Safety & Security Systems – Fire detection, CCTV, and access control.
- Specialized Solutions – Weighbridge automation, wastewater treatment, and mass balance systems.
2. Innovate & Optimize
- Drive research & development in automation, constantly improving existing solutions.
- Leverage emerging technologies to enhance industrial control systems.
- Solve complex engineering challenges through data-driven analysis and creative problem-solving.
3. Project Execution & Technical Support
- Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance automation systems.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and enhance automation solutions for maximum reliability.
- Maintain clear, structured technical documentation to support ongoing improvements.
4. Ensure Compliance & Safety
- Adhere to industry standards and best practices in control system design and implementation.
- Promote a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous learning in engineering workflows.
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements and procedures.
- Document compliance measures and safety protocols for all projects.
- Participate in regular safety and compliance training programs.
- Provide reports on compliance status and improvements.
- Support audits and inspections to ensure regulatory adherence.
- Perform other duties as required to maintain compliance and safety standards.
QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adhere to all the activities outlined in the processes to ensure the processes’ quality objectives are achieved.
HEALTH, SAFETY, AND ENVIRONMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understand fully, the importance of an effective OHS & EMS culture
- Promote a continual improvement of OHS & EMS activities.
- Identify and report hazards
Required Skills or Experience
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a similar role.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Team working ability

- Must possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally in written responses.
