Job Description

  • Reports To: Executive Director
  • Location: Accra, Ghana (with occasional travel) Contract Type: One year (possible renewal) Remuneration: GHS 3,000 – 4,000.00

 

Overview of the Role

The Resource Mobilization and Business Development Officer will play a key role in ensuring the financial sustainability and strategic growth of Care for Society Network International (CfSNI). The officer will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative fundraising strategies, securing grants and partnerships, managing donor relations, and supporting the development of CfSNI’s social enterprises.

Key Responsibilities

Resource Mobilization & Fundraising (60%)

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive resource mobilization strategy to diversify CfSNI’s funding sources.
  • Research and identify funding opportunities from donors, private sector partners, and government agencies.
  • Lead grant writing and proposal development, ensuring alignment with donor priorities and CfSNI’s strategic goals.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with donors, funders, and corporate partners to secure financial and in-kind support.
  • Organize fundraising events, digital campaigns, and community engagement initiatives to generate unrestricted income.
  • Develop and implement social media and digital fundraising strategies to enhance donor engagement.

Business Development & Social Enterprise (25%)

  • Support the design and implementation of CfSNI’s social enterprises.
  • Conduct market research and feasibility studies for new business opportunities.
  • Develop business models and operational plans for income-generating activities.
  • Work with the finance team to ensure the financial sustainability and profitability of social enterprises.
  • Monitor and evaluate the success of revenue-generating initiatives and provide recommendations for scaling.

Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement (15%)

  • Build strategic partnerships with local and international organizations, businesses, and donor agencies.
  • Represent CfSNI in key stakeholder meetings, networking events, and donor forums.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and updates on resource mobilization efforts for the Board and management team.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Number of successful funding proposals submitted and grants secured.
  • Amount of funds raised through donor engagements and fundraising campaigns.
  • Number of new partnerships established with businesses and donor organizations.
  • Growth and financial performance of CfSNI’s social enterprises.
  • Increase in unrestricted income from fundraising events and merchandise sales.
  • Effectiveness of donor engagement and retention strategies.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, resource mobilization, or business development, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
  • Strong grant writing and proposal development skills.
  • Experience in designing and managing social enterprises or income-generating activities.
  • Knowledge of donor landscapes and funding trends in Ghana and internationally.
  • Excellent networking, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in financial planning and budgeting for fundraising activities.
