Job Description

ROLE DESCRIPTION

This is a full-time on-site role for a Risk & Compliance Officer located in Accra. The candidate will be responsible for identifying, assessing and monitoring company risks. This includes having a deep understanding of risk management techniques, audit processes, and legal guidelines within the industry. The successful candidate will play a vital part in maintaining operational integrity and protecting the company's reputation through proactive risk mitigation and compliance management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure all departments are in compliance with all laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure organization maintains adequate operational risk 
  • Ensure the company is in compliance with all internal policies and procedures.
  • Identify and evaluate risks and compliance issues within the organization.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to compliance standards.
  • Prepare reports detailing the risk areas and providing risk mitigation recommendations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of risk mitigation strategies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of compliance programs
  • Provide training to employees about the latest risk management and compliance protocols.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in regulatory norms and laws that apply to the business.
  • Work with other departments to create a culture of compliance within the organization.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Proven experience as a Risk and Compliance Officer or similar role.
  • Knowledge of legal requirements and controls (e.g. Anti-Money Laundering, or AML).
  • Familiarity with industry practices and professional standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Integrity and professional ethics.
  • Teamwork skills. Attention to detail.
  • Professional certification (e.g. Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP)) is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in law, finance, business administration, risk management or a related field.
