Kintampo Health Research Centre (KHRC) is a well-established, African-based, research centre and one of three field research centres of the Research and Development Division of the Ghana Health Service. The work of KHRC has influences on health policy and practice throughout Ghana, Africa and the rest of the world. KHRC also offers research and training services nationally and internationally and its staffs are multidisciplinary. KHRC is located in the middle belt of Ghana.
Job Description
Qualified applicants are invited to apply to provide catering services at Kintampo Health Research Centre, Kintampo North Municipality, Bono-East Region.
- Type of Appointment: Full Time Contract.
- Duration: One (1) year (renewable)
Brief Job Description
He or she shall provide a wide range of menu at the staff canteen, visitors and collaborators at affordable prices and reports to the Director through the Administrator.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate, prepare, and serve meals for individuals (staff) visitors etc
- Provide meals in a small, private setting
- Must have your own staff to work with
- Ensure that meals conform to health safety codes and other requirements
- Train, supervise, and evaluate helpers
- Ensure kitchen is clean and organized
- Liaise with clients to ensure payments and account status are accurate
- Decide what meals to prepare
- Direct food preparation
- Execute food orders
- Handle customer difficulties
- Preparing and serving food at events.
- Handling managerial aspects of the business, such as contracts and invoices.
- Observing and enforcing food safety regulations.
Required Skills or Experience
Qualifications
- Degree in Hospitality Management or Food and Beverage Management or related qualification with at least 5 years of experience in providing catering services
- BSc degree in Business Administration or a relevant field with at least 5 years of experience in catering services
- Higher National Diploma (HND) in Catering with at least 5 years of experience in catering services
- Job experience, knowledge and skills
- Five years working experience and beyond
- Advanced knowledge of food preparation and presentation
- Ability to estimate customer food needs and prepare menus accordingly
- Ability to manage staff and train new staff
- Proven experience in a similar role
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and customer service skills
- Advanced customer service skills
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
- Understanding of safe food handling policies and procedures
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Time management and organizational skills
