Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons aligned with the Cambridge International A Level Law syllabus.
  • Develop engaging lesson plans and teaching materials suited to a range of learning styles and abilities.
  • Ensure comprehensive coverage of key syllabus areas.
  • Develop critical thinking through case law analysis, mock trials, and historical source evaluations.
  • Prepare students for exam success (essay writing, document-based questions, and legal problem-solving).
  • Organise debates, MUN simulations, and field trips (e.g., courts, museums) to enrich learning.
  • Monitor progress through formative/summative assessments and provide targeted feedback.
  • Collaborate with the Humanities Department to enhance cross-disciplinary projects (e.g., Politics, Global Perspectives).

Required Skills or Experience

Qualification & Expereience

  • A Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) is essential.
  • A postgraduate teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE or equivalent) is highly desirable.
  • A Master’s degree in Law (LLM) is an added advantage.
  • Prior experience teaching A Level Law or equivalent is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the Cambridge curriculum and assessment procedures is a significant advantage.
  • Experience using digital tools and platforms for teaching is desirable.

  • Deep understanding of legal principles with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to foster critical thinking, discussion, and independent learning.
  • Commitment to professional ethics, safeguarding, and student success.
