Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver dynamic instruction in Cambridge Sociology syllabi.
  • Develop engaging lesson plans and instructional materials tailored to a diverse range of students' needs and learning styles.
  • Ensure comprehensive coverage of key syllabus areas.
  • Develop critical understanding of social theories/research methods.
  • Prepare students thoroughly for Cambridge examinations through targeted practice and mock exams.
  • Monitor individual progress and provide differentiatied support for diverse learners.
  • Organise fieldwork opportunities with local communities.
  • Integrate current global social issues into curriculum.

Required Skills or Experience

Qualification & Experience

  • A Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Sociology/Social Sciences or related field.
  • A postgraduate teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE or equivalent) is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience teaching Cambridge/IB Sociology curricula.
  • Strong understanding of qualitative research methods.
  • Familiarity with the Cambridge curriculum and assessment procedures is a significant advantage.
  • Experience using digital tools and platforms for teaching is desirable.

  • Ability to foster critical thinking, discussion, and independent learning.
