Job Description
The ICT Officer is responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting the organization's IT infrastructure, communication systems, and technology solutions. The role involves ensuring the smooth operation of IT services, network security, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing IT support to employees.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to employees on hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Diagnose and resolve technical problems related to computers, printers, servers, and other IT equipment.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of IT assets
- Manage email systems, video conferencing tools, and communication platforms.
- Provide technical support for virtual meetings and teleconferencing.
- Assist in setting up and maintaining corporate communication tools.
- Ensure the smooth operation of the organization's IT network, including LAN, WAN, and wireless systems.
- Maintain, configure, and troubleshoot servers, firewalls, and network infrastructure.
- Monitor system performance, security risks, and data backups
- Implement cybersecurity measures to protect company data and IT infrastructure.
- Monitor for security breaches and respond to cybersecurity incidents.
- Ensure regular data backups and disaster recovery planning.
- Install, configure, and update software and hardware as required.
- Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements.
- Conduct regular system and software upgrades
- Conduct basic IT training for employees on system usage and best practices.
- Document IT procedures, troubleshooting steps, and system configurations
Required Skills or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT support, network administration, or related roles
- Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux operating systems, networking protocols, and cybersecurity.
- Experience with cloud computing (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure), database management, and IT security.
- Certifications such as CCNA, ITIL, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Security+, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) are an advantage.
- Must possess a valid Ghanaian driving and operating licenses (C Classes) and can drive SUV underground.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Demonstrated abilities to work within a team environment.
- Able to demonstrate an appropriate safety consciousness
- Must possess a valid Ghanaian driving and operating licenses and able to drive manual vehicle
